Perfect Pie Crust

This never-fail flaky crust is easy and delicious! With just a couple ingredients, it's the perfect base for any pie!

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl add flour and salt and whisk together.
  2. Grate chilled butter into flour and gently massage in.
  3. Add vinegar, then slowly add ice water until the dough reaches a shaggy consistency. It will look like the dough is not together, but when pressed will stick together.
  4. Pour out dough onto cutting board, and gently press together into two balls.
  5. Wrap each dough ball in plastic wrap, then press into circles.
  6. Chill for at least 1 hour.
  7. Dough will hydrate and be ready to roll out into pie pan.
  8. After forming into pie crust, chill for 15-30 minutes before baking.

Notes

This makes 2 pie crusts. As an all-butter pie crust, it's very important to keep it chilled between steps.
